No. 2 Steel Crochet Hook
Make a chain 54 inches long or desired length, using the Pompadour or Nylon Sparkle.
Row 1: Tr tr in fourth chain from hook tr tr ch 3, 2 tr tr in same st, (shell made) * skip 4 sts, shell in next st repeat from * across, turn.
Row 2: Sl st to top st of ch 3 of first shell. Ch 5 * tr tr ch 3 tr tr in ch 3 space of next shell. Repeat from * to second shell from end. Tr tr ch 3 tr tr in next shell, tr tr in ch 3 space of end shell ch 5 turn.
Row 3: Skip first ch 3 space, * tr tr ch 3 tr tr in next ch 3 sp repeat from * across to second ch 3 space from end tr tr in top st of turning ch on preceding row, ch 5 turn.
Row 4: Skip 1st ch 3 sp * shell in next ch 3 sp repeat from * skip last ch 3 sp tr tr in top st of turning ch.
Repeat Rows 2, 3 and 4 until one tr tr ch 3 remains. Cut thread.
Border row for fringe
Starting at one end, tr tr ch 3 tr tr in same sp * ch 3 tr tr ch 3 tr tr in corner of 1st ch 3 sp, ch 3 tr tr ch 3 tr tr in space of next shell, repeat from * to the third corner.
Fringe — Using either Pompadour or plain Nylon
* Wind yarn 11 times around a nine inch cardboard, double yarn in half and pull loop through tr tr ch 3 tr tr space of border, draw ends through loop tightly. Repeat from * around border row.
Take half of one group of fringe and half of next group of fringe. Knot together ½ inch from first row of knots. Trim fringe evenly.
