American Thread Company "Gem" or "Star" Mercerized Crochet Cotton Size 30
5—500 yard balls White, Cream or Ecru.
12—400 yard balls Shaded or Solid Color.
The model illustrated is worked in "Gem" Cream and Shaded Yellows.
Steel Crochet Hook #12 or 13.

Each motif measures about 5 inches.

130 Motifs (10 x 13) are required for cloth measuring about 52 x 68 inches.

With cream, ch 16, join to form a ring, ch 1, 1 s c in each st of ch (16 s c).

2nd Row. Ch 5, d c in next s c, * ch 2, d c in next s c, repeat from * 13 times, ch 2, join in 3rd st of ch 5.

3rd Row. Ch 10, d c in next d c, * ch 2, d c in next d c, ch 7, d c in next d c, repeat from * 6 times, ch 2, join in 3rd st of ch 10.

To join motifs, work 14th row across one side to corner, work 4 d c in corner, ch 3, sl st in corner of 1st motif, ch 3, 4 d c over corner loop, 4 d c in next loop, ch 2, sl st into corresponding picot of 1st motif, ch 2, 4 d c over same loop of 2nd motif and continue across row joining at all picots in same manner.
