"Star" Mercerized Crochet Cotton. Medium or Large Balls size 3, 5 or 10.
"Trojan" Mercerized Crochet Cotton. 66 "Gem" Mercerized Crochet Cotton size 10.
"Puritan" Mercerized Crochet Cotton. "De Luxe" Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton.

Materials Required. About 30 yds. of Thread.
1 1-inch Bone Ring.
Steel Crochet Hook No. 10 or 11.

Work 45 s c over ring.
2nd Row—Ch 3, 1 d c in each of next 8 s c, * ch 3, 1 d c in each of the next 9 s c, repeat from * all around, ch 3, join.
3rd Row—Ch 5, 1 d c in each of the 3 center d c, ch 5, sl st in last d c, ch 5, sl st in 1st d c of next group, repeat from beginning all around. 4th Row—Sl st to center of loop, * ch 5, d c in center d c, ch 4, sl st in top of d c for picot, ch 5, sl st over next loop, ch 3, sl st over next loop, ch 3, sl st over next loop and repeat from * all around, break thread.

CORD. Join thread in center of one side and make a ch twice the length desired, join in same space with other joining, knot at joining and then knot at regular intervals.
