CLARK'S O.N.T. or J. & P. COATS BEST SIX CORD MERCERIZED CROCHET, size 30, White or Ecru.
Small Ball:
Clark's O.N.T—3 balls,
or
J. & P. Coats—2 balls.
Big Ball:
J. & P. Coats—1 ball.
Steel crochet hook No. 10 or 11.

These materials are sufficient for a set of 3 doilies.

FIRST DOILY … Starting at center, ch 8. Join with sl st. 1st rnd: Ch 3, 19 dc in ring. Sl st in 3rd st of ch-3 first made. 2nd rnd: Ch 6 (to count as dc and ch-3), * skip 1 dc, dc in next dc, ch 3. Repeat from * around. Sl st in 3rd st of ch-6 first made. 3rd rnd: Ch 3, 2 dc in same place as sl st, * ch 3, 3 dc in next dc. Repeat from * around, ending with ch 3, sl st in 3rd st of ch-3. 4th rnd: Ch 3, dc in next 2 dc, * ch 5, dc in next 3 dc. Repeat from * around, ending with ch 5, sl st in 3rd st of ch-3. 5th rnd: Same as 4th rnd, making 2 additional ch's between each dc-group. 6th rnd: Same as 5th rnd, making 1 additional ch between dc-groups. 7th rnd: Same as 6th rnd, making 2 additional ch's between dc-groups.
   8th rnd: Same as 7th rnd making 1 additional ch between dc-groups. 9th rnd: Sl st in next dc, ch 3, 4 dc in same place as last sl st, * ch 13, 5 dc in center st of next dc-group. Repeat from * around, ending with ch-13, sl st in 3rd st of ch-3. 10th and 11th rnds: Sl st in next 2 dc, ch 3, * dc in each remaining dc of group, 4 dc in next sp, ch 13, skip 2 dc of next group. Repeat from * around, ending with ch-13. Join as before. 12th rnd: Sl st in next 2 dc, ch 3, * dc in each st of this group to within last 3 dc, ch 2, skip 2 dc, dc in next dc, 4 dc in next sp; ch 13, skip 2 dc of next group. Repeat from * around, ending with ch 13. Join. 13th to 22nd rnds incl: Sl st in next 2 dc, ch 3, * dc in each st of this group to within ch-2 sp, 2 dc in sp, dc in next dc, 4 dc in next sp; ch 13, skip 2 dc of next group. Repeat from * around. Join. 23rd rnd: Sl st in next 2 sts, ch 3, dc in next 2 sts, * ch 3, sc in 3rd ch from hook (p made), dc in next 3 sts. Repeat from * 7 more times, p, dc in next st, in next st make 2 dc, p and 2 dc; dc in each of next 13 ch, skip next 2 sts, dc in next 3 sts, (p, dc in next 3 sts) 8 times. Continue thus around, joining last dc to 3rd st of ch-3 first made.
   This completes one doily. Make two more doilies like this. Starch all pieces lightly and press.
