FRONT … Starting at center, ch 2. 1st rnd: 7 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 2nd rnd: 2 sc in each sc around (14 sc). 3rd rnd: * 2 sc in next sc (1 sc increased), sc in next sc. Re­peat from * around. 4th to 9th rnds incl: Sc in each sc around, increasing 7 sc evenly on each rnd. Sl st in next sc at the end of the 9th rnd. 10th rnd: Ch 3, insert hook in 2nd ch from hook and draw loop through, insert hook in next ch and draw loop through, insert hook in the same sc as sl st and draw loop through, insert hook in next sc, draw loop through, yarn over and draw through all loops on hook, ch 1 to fasten (a star st made). * Insert hook in fastening ch and draw loop through, insert hook in last loop of previous star st and draw loop through, insert hook in same sc where last loop of last star st was drawn through and draw loop through, insert hook in next sc and draw loop through, yarn over and draw through all loops on hook, ch 1 to fasten (an­other star st made). BACK … Work as for Front.

LACING … Cut 2 strands of Steel Blue, each 3 yards long. Twist these strands tightly, now double these strands and give them a twist in the opposite direction. Knot free end. Place Front and Back pieces together with wrong sides facing and lace through both thicknesses in ch-2 sps for two-thirds of the way around, then lace through sps along open edges. Fasten ends securely.
