BANDING: (1 ¼ inches wide): * Ch 30 marking 11th ch with a pin, remove hook from lp, insert it back in marked st, catch lp and draw thru (ring formed), sl st in 1 lp of each ch of ring; repeat from * for length around cloth above hem; with row untwisted, join.
RND 2: Working across lps between rings, sc in 1st ring, * sk 1 ch, (sc, ch 2, sc) in next ch, (sk 2 ch, in next ch make sc, ch 2, sc) twice, sc in next ring; repeat from * around; join and fasten off.
Round corners of 38-inch linen square and make ½ inch hem. Sew Banding around cloth above hem. Stretch and pin Trivets right-side-down in true shape. Steam and press dry thru a cloth. Sew one on each corner of cloth so that they lie on top at table.
