Loop Stitch Booties Pattern

Materials Required:
AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY
"DAWN" NYLON or
"DAWN" NYLON POMPADOUR
1 ounce Med. Blue or color of your choice
Plastic Crochet Hook Size F OR ANY SIZE HOOK WHICH WILL RESULT IN STITCH GAUGE BELOW
½ yard ¼ inch Ribbon

GAUGE: 7 sts = 1 inch, 7 rows = 1 inch

UPPER SECTION: Starting at toe chain (ch) 18, to measure about 2 inches, 1 single crochet (sc) in 2nd stitch (st) from hook, 1 sc in each remaining st of ch, ch 1 to turn all rows. 2nd and 3rd ROWS: 1 sc in each sc. 4th ROW: 1 double loop st in each sc (double loop st: insert hook in st, wind yarn twice around index finger, pick up and pull both loops through st, yarn over and complete sc). 5th ROW: 1 sc in each loop st. 6th and 7th ROWS: 1 sc in each sc. Repeat last 4 rows 3 times, then repeat 4th row once. 21st ROW: 1 sc in each st. 22nd ROW: 1 sc in the 1st 12 sc, ch 1, turn. 23rd ROW: 1 sc in next 7 sc for instep, ch 1, turn. 24th ROW: Same as 4th row. NEXT 3 ROWS: Same as 5th, 6th and 7th rows. Repeat last 4 rows once, then repeat 4th row once (32 rows), cut yarn. Ch 12, and with wrong side of Bootie facing, 1 sc in each of the next 5 sc to left of instep, ch 1, turn. NEXT ROW: 1 sc in each sc and 1 sc in each st of ch, ch 1, turn. NEXT ROW: Same as 4th row. NEXT 3 ROWS: Repeat 5th, 6th and 7th rows. Repeat last 4 rows 6 times, then repeat 4th row once, cut yarn leaving an end. Thread into needle and sew Bootie at side, then sew instep in position on both sides. Work another section in same manner.

SOLE: Ch 6, 1 sc in 2nd st from hook and in each remaining st of ch, ch 1 to turn all rows. 2nd ROW: 2 sc in 1st and last sc, 1 sc in each sc between. NEXT 3 ROWS: Repeat 2nd row. 6th ROW: 1 sc in each sc. NEXT 6 ROWS: Repeat 6th row. 13th ROW: Decrease 1 st at beginning and end of row, 1 sc in each st between (to decrease: insert hook in st, pull loop through, insert hook in next st, pull loop through, yarn over and pull through all loops at one time). NEXT 4 ROWS: Work even. 18th ROW: Repeat 13th row. NEXT 3 ROWS: Work even. 22nd ROW: Increase in 1st and last st. NEXT 4 ROWS: Work even. 27th ROW: Same as 13th row. 28th ROW: Work even. 29th and 30th ROWS: Repeat last 2 rows. 31st ROW: Repeat 13th row, cut yarn. Work 3 more Sections in same manner. Crochet 2 Sole Sections together with a row of sc. Sew Sole Section to Upper Section. Sew a bow in position as illustrated.
