Doorknob Covers Patterns

Materials Required:
AMERICAN THREAD
"AUNT LYDIA'S" HEAVY RUG YARN
1—70 yd. skein each Natural and Red will make 5 covers
Aluminum Crochet Hook Size H
Scraps of Black and Red felt

POMPON COVER

With Natural ch 2, 6 s c in 1st ch, do not join or turn rounds. Place marker at beg of rounds. 2nd ROUND: 2 s c in each s c. NEXT ROUND: 1 s c in next s c, 2 s c in next s c, repeat from beg all around—18 sc. NEXT ROUND: 1 s c in each of next 2 sts, 2 s c in next st, repeat from beg all around—24 sc. NEXT 2 ROUNDS: Work even. NEXT ROUND: 1 s c in each of next 2 sts, dec in next 2 sts, repeat from beg all around—18 s c. NEXT ROUND: Work even, join, cut yarn. HAIR: Open skein of Red, cut one end. Cutting through skein, cut 4 sections each 2 inches long. Tie in center, then tie in position.

Cut Eyes and Eyebrows from Black felt, Nose and Mouth from Red felt. Glue in place as illustrated.

LOOP ST COVER

Work cover same as #1. Cut eyelashes and eyebrows from Black felt. Cut mouth from Red felt. Wind a 1 inch length Blue yarn into a circle for eye. Glue all features in place as illustrated.

HAIR: With Yellow ch 14 and work 13 double loop sts on ch (double loop st: insert hook in st; winding yarn clockwise, wind yarn twice around index finger, insert hook from left to right through loops on finger, pick up both loops from finger and pull through st, drop loops from finger, yarn over and pull through all loops on hook). Attach loops in position.
