Puff Stitch. Make the chain foundation and three extra chains to turn.

Row 1. * Y.O., bring a loop through foundation ch., Y.O., bring loop through same foundation ch. Y.O. bring loop through same foundation chain (7 loops on hook), Y.O. and through 7 loops on hook, ch. 1, skip 1 foundation ch. Repeat from * to end of row.

Row 2. Ch. 3 and turn. * Work a puff St., same as in Row 1, into ch. 1 of previous row, ch. 1, and repeat from * to end of row.

Repeat Row 2 throughout.

Fancy Puff Stitch. Make the chain foundation and three extra chains to turn.

Row 1. Work 8 D.C. in 4th ch. from hook. * Skip 4 ch., and work 1 S.C. into next ch. Skip 4 ch., and work 8 D.C. in next ch. Repeat from * across row, and end with 4 D.C.

Row 2. Turn without making a ch. * Work 4 D.C. between the 2nd and 3rd D.C. of the next group of 8 D.C., now work 4 D.C. in first D.C. of this group, thus going over, and almost concealing 4 D.C. just completed. Skip 2 D.C. and work 1 S.C. between the 4th and 5th D.C. of same group of 8. Repeat from * across row. All rows must end with 4 D.C., as on the first row.

Repeat Row 2 throughout.
