MATERIALS REQUIRED: 10 Skeins Home-Ties Kentucky Soft Spun Yarn No. 113 (7 skeins Gray—2 skeins White or Ivory—1 skein Red)—Crochet Hook Size "I" or 8

ABBREVIATIONS: Ch—Chain; St—Stitch; Sts—Stitches; Sc—Single Crochet.

Gauge: 3 ch make 1"

Instructions: Use double strand of yarn throughout rug. To start, with Red yarn, chain 37, turn, and be­ginning in 2nd chain from hook, work 1 sc in 36 sts. Ch 1 to turn and repeat for 3 more rows of sc across. Cut yarn, leaving about 2 inch end. Attach Gray and work 1 sc in each sc to end of row, ch 1 to turn and repeat across for 3 more rows. Cut yarn. Attach White and proceed for 4 rows as you did with Gray. Cut yarn. Attach Gray and continue to sc in each st across for 40 rows. Cut yarn. Continue with 4 rows of White, 4 rows of Gray and 4 rows of Red.

Border: With Gray, start at any point on one side of the rug and sc around the rug, increasing (1 extra sc) at each corner. Join, cut yarn and finish. On the oppo­site side of the rug, with White yarn, sc around the rug, picking up only the back loop of each stitch, in­creasing at each corner. Join, cut yarn and finish. Again using Gray, sc around rug, picking up only back loop of White yarn. Join, cut yarn and finish.
