Materials Required:
AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY
"DAWN" KNITTING WORSTED
4 ounces Amber (all sizes)
Aluminum Crochet Hook Size J OR ANY SIZE HOOK WHICH WILL RESULT IN STITCH GAUGE BELOW

GAUGE: 1 s c and ch 1 = ½ inch

Directions are given for Small Size. Changes for Medium and Large sizes are given in parentheses.

Ch 28 (30, 32), s c in 2nd st from hook, * ch 1, skip 1st st of ch, s c in next st of ch, repeat from * across row, ch 1 to turn all rows. 2nd ROW: 1 s c in s C, * ch 1, s c in next sc, repeat from * across row. NEXT 3 ROWS: Repeat 2nd row. 6th ROW: Work in pattern (ch 1, s c in s c) across row inc in, 7th (7th, 8th) and 8th (8th, 9th) st (to inc: s c, ch 1, s c in same st). 7th and 8th ROWS: Work even. 9th ROW: Inc in 7th 17th, 8th) and 10th (10th, 11th) sts. 10th and 11th ROWS: Work even. 12th ROW: Work across 7 s c, ch 1, skip 4 (4, 5) s c for thumb, work in pattern across remainder of row. NEXT 13 (14, 15) ROWS: Work even. 26th (27th, 28th) ROW: Dec 1 st at beg of row, work across next 4 (4, 5) s c, dec 1 st, work across remainder of row dec 1 st at end of row. 27th (28th, 29th) ROW: Work even. 28th (29th, 30th) ROW: Dec 1 st at beg of row, work across 2 (2, 3) s c, dec 2 sts, work across remainder of row dec 1 st at end of row. 29th (30th, 31st) ROW: Work even, cut yarn leaving a length long enough to sew seam. Thread length into needle and sew seam.
THUMB: Attach yarn in any s c and work in pattern working 1 s c in ch 1 of palm, join and turn each row. Work in pattern until thumb is ½ inch less than desired length. NEXT ROW: Dec every other st, join, cut yarn. Draw sts of thumb tog.
CUFF: Join yarn in seam st, work s c, ch 1, s c in same st, * ch 1, s c, ch 1, s c in next st, repeat from * all around, join and turn each round. Work 6 rounds even, cut yarn.
TIE: Work a ch about 18 inches long, work 1 sl st in each st of ch, cut yarn.
POMPONS: (Make 2). Wind yarn 35 times over a 3 inch cardboard, slip off cardboard, tie in center, cut both ends and trim into shape. Attach to each end of tie. If desired mitten may be finished with fringe. Cut strands into 3 inch lengths. Take 2 strands double in half and loop through each ch 1 space in last row of cuff.
