Shaded Yellows, Nile Green and White or Colors Desired

Cosmos. With Green ch 8, join to form a ring, * ch 4, s c in ring, repeat from * 7 times (8 loops), break Green. Attach Shaded Yellows in any loop, ch 3, 2 d c in same space, * ch 1, 3 d c in next loop, repeat from * all around, ch 1, join.
Next Row. Ch 3, d c in same space, 1 d c in next d c, 2 d c in next d c, * ch 1, 2 d c in next d c, 1 d c in next d c, 2 d c in next d c, repeat from * all around, ch 1, join.
Next Row. Ch 3, tr c in same space, 1 d c in next d c, s d c in next d c (s d c: thread over hook, insert in st, pull through, thread over and pull through all loops at one time), 1 d c in next d c, 1 tr c in next d c, ch 3, sl st in same space, s c in ch 1 between petals, sl st in next d c, repeat from beginning all around, break thread. Work a 2nd flower joining it to 1st flower in last row as follows: ch 3, tr c in same space, 1 d c in next d c, s d c in next d c, 1 d c in next d c, 1 tr c in next d c, ch 1, sl st in correspond­ing st of 1st flower, ch 1, sl st in top of tr c just made of 2nd flower, ch 3, sl st in same space at base of petal, s c in next ch 1 between petals, sl st in next d c, ch 3, tr c in same space, ch 1, sl st in corresponding st of next petal of 1st flower, ch 1, sl st in top of tr c just made, complete petal and finish flower same as 1st flower. Join all flowers in same manner leaving 2 complete petals free at top and at lower edge to corner. Last flower made will be corner flower. Join next flower to corner flower leaving 4 com­plete petals free on outside edge of corner flower. Join remainder of flowers same as 1st side and join other cor­ners same as 1st corner.
Outside Edge. Attach White in 1st tr c of 2nd free petal from joining, * ch 7, s c in last tr c of same petal, ch 7, s c in 1st tr c of next petal, ch 7, s c in last tr c of same petal, ch 3, thread over hook twice, insert in 1st tr c of next petal of same flower, pull loop through, thread over and work off 2 loops twice, thread over hook twice, skip the joining, insert in last tr c of joining petal of next flower, thread over and work off 2 loops twice, thread over and pull through all loops at one time, ch 3, s c in 1st tr c of next petal of same flower, repeat from * to corner, then working around corner flower, * ch 7, s c in last tr c of same petal, ch 7, s c in 1st tr c of next petal of same flower, repeat from * twice, ch 7, s c in last tr c of same petal, then work across side same as other side, continue all around in same manner working all corners same as 1st corner.
2nd Row. Sl st to center of loop, * ch 7, s c in next loop, repeat from * once, ch 5, cluster st in st at center of join­ing (cluster st: thread over hook twice, insert in st, pull through, thread over and work off 2 loops twice, * thread over hook twice, insert in same space, pull through and work off 2 loops twice, repeat from * once, thread over and work off all loops at one time), ch 5, s c in next loop, repeat from 1st * all around working 7 ch loops around each corner flower.
3rd Row. Sl st to center of loop, * ch 7, s c in next loop, repeat from * all around.
4th Row. Sl st into loop, ch 4 (counts as part of 1st cluster st) cluster st in same space, ch 5, sl st in 3rd st from hook for picot, ch 2, cluster st in same space, * ch 4, 2 s c in next loop, ch 4, 2 cluster sts with ch 2, picot, ch 2 between in next loop, repeat from * all around working 3 cluster sts with ch 2, picot, ch 2 between each cluster st in corner loop, break thread.
Inside Edge. With White work 1st row same as 1st row of outside edge to petal of last flower that is joined to corner flower, ch 3, thread over hook twice, insert in 1st tr c of next petal of same flower, pull through and work off 2 loops twice, thread over hook twice, insert in last tr c of joining petal of corner flower, pull through and work off 2 loops twice, thread over hook twice, insert in 1st tr c of next petal of corner flower, pull through and work off 2 loops twice, thread over hook twice, insert in last tr c of joining petal of next flower, pull through and work off 2 loops twice, thread over and work off remain­ing loops at one time, ch 3, s c in 1st tr c of next petal of same flower, finish row same as 1st row of outside edge working all corners same as 1st corner.
2nd Row. Work same as 2nd row of outside edge but working 6 ch loops instead of 7 ch loops and working ch 4 loops before and after each cluster st and at corner work as follows: ch 3, thread over hook twice, insert in last loop of last flower on side, pull through, thread over and work off 2 loops twice, thread over hook twice, insert in next ch 6 loop of next flower on side, pull through and work off 2 loops twice, thread over and work off all loops at one time, ch 3, s c in next loop, continue in same manner working all corners same as 1st corner.
3rd Row. Work in s c working 6 s c over each 6 ch loop and 4 s c over each remaining loop working 1 s c in each cluster st and each s c, break thread.

INSERTION

Work flowers same as for edging and joining all flowers same as flowers of edging leaving 2 petals free at top and lower edge. Work 3 rows of inside edge on each side of flowers same as on edging omitting corners.
