Crocheted Belt Pattern #2275

Materials: Chadwick's Red Heart Lustre Knitting Worsted, 2 skeins (1¼ oz. skeins) of main color and 1 skein of contrasting color.
Milward's steel crochet hook No. 1.
3 snap fasteners.

Starting at one end, ch 22, turn. 1st row: 2 d c in 4th ch from hook, ch 1, skip 1 ch, d c in next ch (eyelet), d c in each of next 5 ch, skip 3 ch, d c in each of next 6 ch, ch 1, skip 1 ch, 2 d c in next ch. Ch 2, turn. 2nd row: 2 s c in first d c, s c in next d c, s c in ch-1, s c in each of next 5 d c, skip 2 d c (center point). S c in each of next 5 d c, s c in next ch-1, s c in next d c, 2 s c in next d c. Ch 2, turn. 3rd row: 2 s c in first s c, s c in each of next 7 s c, skip 2 middle s c, s c in each of next 7 s c, 2 s c in last s c. Ch 2, turn. 4th to 6th rows incl: Same as 3rd row, but making ch-3 at end of 6th row. 7th row: 2 d c in first s c, ch 1, skip 1 s c, d c in each of next 6 s c, skip 2 center s c, d c in each of next 6 s c, ch 1, skip 1 s c, 2 d c in last s c, ch 2, turn. Repeat these 6 rows (2nd to 7th incl.) until belt measures desired length.

Cord. Measure off four 13-yd. lengths of yarn (2 strands of each color), twist tightly, then double the twisted strands and give them a second twist in the opposite direction. Starting at double-pointed end, run cord through eyelets, as in illustration, to within 4 eyelets of opposite end, leaving ends of cord free. Cut looped end of cord and make a knot at each end. Cut raw ends close. Place double-pointed end under opposite end and tie. Sew on snap fasteners.
